Ali has spent the last decade in Yorkville, King West and now joins Matthew Jonathan. His focus and talent is in precision cuts and textured hair, colour, colour correction, highlights, balayage and extensions. Ali is praised for his ability to adapt to different hair types and textures. His signature styles range from short bobs to laid-back beachy waves to smooth layered locks.  Ali’s talent and versatility have also taken him to many fashion shows including Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa, TIFF as well as local celebrities such as Marylin Denis, Mia Martina and Melissa Dimarco.  Ali takes pride in offering an exceptional hair care experience to every one of his clients – a level of service and professionalism that he abides by in every setting.

Ali’s favourite pastime:  Soccer, skateboarding and having fun with his beautiful wife and twin girls.

Cassandra has been in the hair styling industry for over 7 years. Her journey began in 2008, she fell in love with the world of fashion, hair makeovers and colour. She progressed quickly, learning the tips of the trade by working next to some of the best stylists in the GTA. Cassandra has worked with Matthew for over two years now and has been thoroughly equipped with the techniques to produce outstanding Balayage toning, highlights and solid colour. It’s clear that her keen sense of style and trend awareness enables her to perform fantastic transformations for her clients. Apart from cutting and colouring beautifully, Cassandra is a master at curling and styling hair for a sleek and silky finish.

Cassandra’s favourite pastime: Cooking and hosting dinner parties.

Roman is a power house of talent.  His passion and enthusiasm for hair styling and colouring is tangible. His knowledge and experience can be seen in his extensive portfolio showcasing stunning examples of natural looking highlights,  solid grey coverage, bouncy waves of Balayage toning and more. Before working with Matthew, Roman was a stylist and colourist in one of Yorkville’s most prestigious Salons for nearly four years. Roman has been working with Matthew for one and a half years now and has been achieving fantastic results for his clients. Matthew is super proud to announce that Roman has recently been selected to become a L’Oreal Artistic Director, Roman’s clients at Matthew Jonathan Salon will most definitely enjoy the benefits of having a stylist who is a front runner in the industry.

Roman’s favourite pastime: Rock climbing, seeking out adventure.

Jeena began her career 7 years ago and demonstrates her experience and skill with every client. She has gone to great lengths to set herself apart as a highly educated and trend conscience stylist. Working in one of Oakville’s upmarket salons for five years, Jeena has had the privilege of learning from world leaders in the industry by attending hair schools and academies in places like New York (Bumble and Bumble University) and The Loreal Academy in Toronto where she has had valuable exposure to numerous educational courses on colour, hair cutting techniques and products. Jeena is passionate about her career and loves to make people look great and feel good about themselves. Jeena has a great flare for cutting, styling - especially smooth beachy waves and all forms of colour processes including Balayage.

Jeena’s favourite pastime: Dinners with her husband, shopping.

Coming from a family of hairstylists, Lexi embarked on her career at Donato Academy where she excelled in her craft. While at Donato’s she gained valuable experience working with Toronto’s top stylists and honing her skills in the fast paced world of fashion shows, events and weddings. Lexi was chosen from a long line of applicants to work along side Matthew Jonathan.  Matthew’s reputable skill for Balayage highlights has been learned and mastered by Lexi, her portfolio speaks for itself. She’s a natural. Her clients love her relaxed and calming demeanour and rave about her work.

Lexi’s favourite pastime: Beach walks, sunsets.

Sunny started her career by becoming a certified Makeup Artist. After this, she felt a pull to further her skills in the beauty industry and began assisting and working closely with senior stylists in the GTA over the next 6 years. Sunny has been working at Matthew Jonathan for two years now.  She is known for her strut worthy hair finishing skills. Her blow waving, straightening and curling results are beautiful. Sunny’s services include, solid colour application and Brazilian blow waves.  She takes pride in helping people look and feel confident about themselves.
